Missing teeth can cause a plethora of problems. In addition to the obvious appearance issues, the teeth adjacent to the gap left by a missing tooth may drift into the space.

This can cause issues with your bite and your ability to chew effectively, which can possibly lead to nutritional issues. Dr. Cesar and her team at Bourquin Dental Centre offer a variety of solutions to replace missing teeth.

Dental Implants

The most effective treatment for tooth replacement is placing a dental implant. An oral surgeon places a small titanium post in the jaw to anchor the replacement tooth. After it has healed, your dentist will place a crown, and the result is a natural-looking, fully functioning permanent tooth.

Bridges

In some cases, a patient may choose a dental bridge to replace missing teeth. A bridge is different than an implant in that the artificial replacement teeth are affixed to the teeth adjacent to the gap rather than an implant post. An implant-supported bridge is an option when there is more than one tooth missing. Implants are placed on each side of the gap, restored with a crown, and the remaining replacement teeth are attached to the implants.

Removable Appliances

Complete Dentures

Complete dentures are removable replacements for a full set of missing teeth and the surrounding gums. The aid in chewing, speech, and maintaining the shape of your face. Complete dentures must be removed for cleaning.

Partials

A removable partial denture acts like a bridge, but it is not affixed to the adjacent teeth or bone. It is a natural-looking appliance that fills a space left by missing teeth and prevents the remaining teeth from moving. It is also removable for cleaning.

Digital Intraoral Scanner

Our digital intraoral scanner allows us to acquire precise true color 3D digital impressions of your teeth, to help us make crowns on teeth and implants, night guards, partial dentures, and many more appliances. In most cases, we can avoid messy impression materials in your mouth, which is especially helpful for patients who are prone to gagging.
