Some people experience fear or anxiety when they visit the dentist’s office. Bourquin Dental Centre offers gentle, compassionate care, but for those times when that’s just not enough, we provide the option of conscious sedation.

Conscious Sedation

Varying degrees of sedation are available. Oral sedation, achieved by taking a pill, will relax you enough to tolerate procedures without discomfort or anxiety. In fact, you likely won’t remember the procedure at all! Our staff will remain attentive throughout your sedation, taking vital signs and ensuring your comfort. Because the effects of sedation last beyond the procedure, you will need someone to drive you home.

Do You Need Sedation Dentistry?

The patients most likely to require sedation are those with intense phobias or medical conditions that make dental visits too difficult to bear. Others who may benefit are those who have experienced dental trauma as a child, have a sensitive gag reflex, or complex dental care needs. Whatever the reason, we’re happy to explain your choices for sedation and provide the one that will work best for you.
